Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, producer and record label president Talia Billig has made a career of building community and breaking down barriers.
A seasoned songsmith who has collaborated with artists like Aloe Blacc, Moby, José James and Becca Stevens, she weaves a unique and brilliant fabric through all she touches. Her own music, described as a “beguiling mix of tropical pulse, chamber pop, avant-electronica, and quiet storm” has been featured in Billboard, BUST and NPR.
Billig's creative process has always centered on intimate collaboration and community-building. Early in her career, she created The Orchard Sessions - a video salon filmed in her Lower East Side NYC apartment featuring artists like Snarky Puppy, Kate Davis, Luke Temple and Johanna Warren. This DIY approach to fostering artistic connection became the blueprint for her practice: creating spaces where artists can fully pursue their artistry and celebrate community on their own terms.
In 2018, she co-founded Rainbow Blonde Records with internationally acclaimed vocalist José James. A Black-owned, woman-owned label, Rainbow Blonde champions artists whose work fearlessly ignores genre and trends. As a label president she champions independent, brilliant art that may otherwise not be made. As an educator she has taught at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, UCLA and Peabody to empower young artists toward musical independence. And as a songwriter she continues to build community—garnering a Grammy nomination for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals.
Since her 2019 debut I Am Here, she has released two EPs, a live LP recorded at Levon Helm Studios, and a self-titled full-length in 2023.

This website exists mostly to point back to her and José James’ baby/brainchild, Rainbow Blonde Records. A collective, in her words,
“Made by artists. Made for artists.
Run by artists. Run for artists.”
It’s a brave new world, dear friend. On the rise.
